Police arrests Bank Security Man for divulging Customers' Information to Kidnappers

The Nigeria Police Force in its weekly report released on Monday. Listed some of the following as criminal incidences during the week.

1. ARREST OF KIDNAPPER/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (LAGOS STATE): On 02.12.2013 at about 4:00PM, one male suspect earlier arrested in connection with a case of kidnapping on 30.11.2013, led Police SARS operatives to in the arrest of seven other gang members in different locations. One pump action gun and two empty magazines were recovered at the residence of one of the arrested suspects at No.57 Afariogun Street, Oshodi. State CID Panti is investigating.

2. ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER (DELTA STATE): On 05.12.2013 at about 2:00PM, Police SARS operatives from Anambra State Police command in a joint operation with Delta State Police Command Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad (SAKS) arrested one Austine Obiomor ‘m’, a staff of Techno Security Company attached to one of the commercial banks in Asaba. Suspect is linked to giving information about bank customers to kidnapping gangs. Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Asaba is investigating.

3. RECOVERY OF VEHICLE/ARRESTED OF SUSPECT (ANAMBRA STATE): On 03.12.2013 at about 1:00PM, Police detectives while acting on a tip-off arrested one male suspect at Onitsha and recovered one Toyota Avalon car (reg no. withheld) earlier reported snatched from the owner at Owerri, Imo State. State CID Awka is investigating.

4. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERY OF WEAPON ( ANAMBRA STATE): On 04.12.2013 at about 08:00AM, upon a tip-off Police detectives at Awada arrested two male suspects involved in an armed robbery incident earlier reported to the Police. One Locally-made pistol with two rounds of 5.56 ammunition recovered from the suspects. State CID Awka is investigating.

5. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBER/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (FCT ABUJA): On 04.12.2013 at about 11:30PM, upon a distress call that armed robbers were robbing commuters along the University of Abuja-Giri Highway, Police patrol teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. In a bit to apprehend the hoodlums who were met at the scene there was a shootout, Two of the armed robbers were fatally injured. Two (2) Locally-made guns, two (2) cutlasses, three (3) knives, charms and military camouflage wears were recovered from the deceased hoodlums, other gang members fled into the nearby bush with gunshot wounds.FCT CID is investigation.

6. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (ANAMBRA STATE): On 05.12.2013 at about 12:35PM, upon a tip-off, Police SARS Operatives arrested a wanted notorious armed robbery suspect at Awka, suspect had serious gunshot wound sustained from previous operations at the time of arrest. One (1) AK-47 rifle with two (2) magazines with loaded with fifty-six (56) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition. Suspect linked to some armed robbery/kidnapping cases in the State. State CID Awka is investigating.

7. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (RIVERS STATE): On 06.12.2013 at about 01:42AM, Police detectives apprehended three wanted notorious at armed robbery suspects linked with recent robbery incidence at Woji Estate. One (1) locally-made pistol, 72 bags of rice, 3 laptops, 10 types of phones, 1 LG Plasma TV, 1 generator-Tagma were recovered from the suspects hideout. State CID Port Harcourt is investigating.

8. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBER/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (RIVERS STATE): On 08.12.2013 at about 03:49AM, Police patrol team along the East/West road ran into a road barricade put in place by a gang of armed robbers operating at the boundary between Emohua/Ahoada. On sighting the police, the hoodlums opened fire at the patrol team which was repelled. Two of the armed robbers were fatally wounded, while others escaped the scene with gunshot wounds. Two (2) AK-47 rifle with twenty (22) rounds of live ammunition, one unregistered Qlink motorcycle, three (3) Nokia handset and the sum of N1,030 were recovered from the deceased hoodlums. 9. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBER/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (FCT ABUJA): On 09.12.2013 at about 03:45AM, upon a distress call that armed robbers were operating in a house at Life Camp area Abuja Police patrol teams were immediately dispatched to the scene where one of the hoodlums was arrest. One (1) locally-made pistol, axe, iron rod and one (1) blackberry handset were recovered from the suspect; other gang members fled the scene. Life Camp Division is investigating.

10. RECOVERY OF WEAPON (EDO STATE): On 03.12.2013 at about 9:30PM, Police patrol team along Lucky Way Ikpoba Hill Benin City intercepted a young man carrying a bag on his back, the man immediately abandoned the bag and too to flight. Upon searching the bag, one AK-47 rifle, with 14 rounds of ammunition was recovered therein. State CID Benin is investigating.

11. FOILED ROBBERY/ARREST OF SUSPECT (KANO STATE): On 06.12.2013 at about 8:00PM upon a distress call that hoodlums were trying to gain entrance into a house on Gaddafi Mannara Road, Police patrol teams were immediately mobilized to the scene where two of the hoodlums were arrested while others fled the scene. State CID Kano is investigating.

12. FOILED ROBBERY (FCT ABUJA): On 08.12.2013 at about 03:40AM, Police patrol team repelled a gang of armed hoodlums that invaded the Urban Mass Transit Office at Katampe along Kubwa Expressway. Hoodlums fled the scene and nothing was stolen, one of the security guards injured by the hoodlums was rushed to the hospital where he is responding to treatment. FCT CID is investigating.

13. RECOVERY OF EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS/ARREST OF SUSPECT (LAGOS STATE): On 05.12.2013 at about 12:30PM, Police patrol team at Isheri along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway intercepted a male suspect traveller and when searched five hundred (500) pieces of explosive cords were recovered from him. Police EOD Ikeja is investigating.
